The Before & After Laser Hair Removal Care

It is important to take care of the skin that will be handled for your protection and comfort, as well as to ensure that the procedure is as successful as possible. Laser hair removal on the face is a noninvasive medical procedure that removes hair from the face using a beam of light. It can also be done on other parts of the body, such as the armpits, knees, or bikini area, but it’s mostly used on the face around the mouth, chin, and cheeks. It’s crucial to understand the before and after-effects of laser hair removal before deciding to go that route. Call our consultants for a thorough overview of the preparations and aftercare, or simply stop by one of our clinics to meet with one of our experts. At Havana Skin Clinic, we believe in total openness and authenticity for all our customers, and we provide sufficient guidance, alerts, and medicinal skincare items at the most affordable prices.

Laser Hair Removal Before and After

A Brief Glance into Laser Hair Removals

The normal growth cycle of those follicles is interrupted as they heat up. Those targeted hairs gradually fall out on their own after a couple of weeks. Hair grows back smoother, thinner, and lighter the next time. For each subsequent operation, the amount of hair that grows back decreases, until it finally stops growing at all. For best outcomes, most men and women need a series of six to eight treatments spaced four to eight weeks apart. You should anticipate minor pain during your care, like a rubber-band snap on your skin, which can be fully handled with some soft medications. For up to 72 hours, you may experience minor redness, bumps, and swelling in the treated area. Restorative Gel, Aloe Vera, calamine, or hydrocortisone can be used if the symptoms continue. All these items are available in Havana.

Pre-Treatment

  • Sun exposure should be avoided in the days leading up to your appointment, as laser hair removal does not work well on tanned skin.
  • In the week leading up to your operation, avoid peels or other chemical treatments that may irritate your skin. Before your procedure, you should avoid using self-tanner or spray tan items to avoid injury. For at least a week before treatment, refrain from using any sunless tanning items.
  • At least 12 hours before surgery, the treatment area should be shaved. It’s preferable to shave as near as possible.
  • On the day of your appointment, don’t wear any lipstick, lotion, or deodorant. Arrive at your appointment with clean, makeup-free skin if at all necessary.
  • The night before and the day of the appointment, don’t drink or smoke. Drink at least 1 liter of water the day before and the day of treatment to help your body’s temperature regulation.
  • Arrive with a low body temperature if possible. Do not engage in any physical activity before the procedure. If you’re already warm, the laser can make you feel even more uncomfortable.
  • Avoid aspirin and other anti-inflammatory medications, as well as herbal treatments, which may cause bleeding.

Laser Hair Removal Before and After

Post-Treatment

  • After treatment, don’t expose the skin to the sun for at least 2 weeks. This is done to keep the skin from darkening. Always use sunscreen during the procedure and for the next 1-2 months afterward.
  • For seven days, avoid heat treatments like spas, steam rooms, and saunas. Picking or scratching the handled skin is not a good idea. Other than shaving, do not use any other hair removal methods or items on the treated area during your laser treatments, as this would keep you from obtaining the best results.
  • For the next 4-5 days, stop scrubbing or adding pressure to the skin. This is done to allow the treated skin to heal and avoid infection. A mild soap may be used to gently wash the treated area. During the first 48 hours, the skin should be patted dry and not rubbed.
  • For at least two days, refrain from shaving, exercising, taking hot showers, or using chlorine-based products. In the meantime, stop using make-up, perfumed products, bleaching creams, lotions, moisturizers, and other similar products.
  • If blistering or crusting occurs, do not scrape the region, as this can result in scarring. If the sensitivity persists, you should apply a cold compress. Apply an antibiotic cream if there is any crusting.
  • For the duration of the procedure, refrain from waxing, tweezing, or threading. You would not be able to achieve the best results if you do either of these.

You need to understand the laser hair removal before and after effects to successfully go through the entire process and achieve the best results. Our experts are always there to help you with any info regarding these.
