Microneedling: Remove Wrinkles & Fine Lines
Microneedling is one of the hottest beauty trends available today. Even prominent stars like Kim Kardashian have undergone this treatment to achieve the best-looking skin. It’s not surprising why; this treatment targets many skin problems, so more and more people are considering this procedure. Microneedling has also resulted in a younger, firmer skin, which is a common problem of aging clients. Here, we’ll tell you more about this treatment based on Amy of Shapes & Shadows' first session with Caroline Hooper.
How microneedling works?
Microneedling, due to the natural physiology of skin, awakens the fibroblasts, and initiates new epidermal growth. It releases collagen, elastin, and other components of the skin, which make it look younger, firmer and more elastic. Microneedling also remodels the skin’s vascular matrix, which induces a tightening effect. With this procedure, as well as the serum applied together with the microneedling device, it can improve the overall condition of the skin.
What skin concerns does microneedling solve?
Due to the multiple mechanisms of microneedling it can target many skin issues. It tightens the skin, which is also good for people who have large pores. It eliminates surface pigmentation. Microneedling can also balance the oils of the skin, preventing future acne breakouts. Due to the improved collagen and elastin production, this treatment results in overall rejuvenation of the skin.
Is it painful?
Due to the needles that slightly penetrate the surface of the skin, microneedling can be a little bit painful. It may deliver a ‘scratchy’ sensation around the jawline and the forehead during the actual procedure. After the treatment, a sting may be felt, which is similar to the sensation after being exposed to the sun. However, the pain does not last for long, and goes away soon after just a couple hours.
Who can undergo microneedling?
People who have acne-prone skin, have acne marks, skin discolorations or wrinkles and fine lines are the best candidates for microneedling. Especially for individuals who have an older skin, this treatment is recommended to achieve a younger-looking skin.
However, multiple sessions must be done before the final results can be seen. Microneedling is recommended every four weeks for people who have older skin. To get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, the treatment must be maintained every four months. On the other hand, other clients who have other skin issues than wrinkles, the recommendation is to undergo microneedling every 6 months.
