Dermaroller - What Is It
Before we explain how and what dermarolling really is, lets explain what a dermaroller is and what it for. A dermaroller is a handheld needling roller device which is rolled on the surface of skin. This creates tiny punctures on the skin which triggers skin repair. This leads to the body making new collagen. By doing this, proteins called amino-acids, build up in the collagen. This is the part of the connective tissue that helps in tightening , firmness, suppleness, and elasticity in skin.
A short-term controlled injury to the skin is the purpose of applying a dermaroller to your skin. The reason why is to trigger the protein in our skin for the production of healthier younger looking complexion. Consider dermarolling your skin to a body workout at the gym. You create a micro injury to your muscles while working out in the gym resulting in muscle repair strengthening and tightening. This is not a direct comparison but I hope you see the picture I am paining.

Step 1:
Rub your serum onto the surface of your skin Not too much though as you still want it to sit on the surface.
Step 2:
Please note* Ensure that while rolling, you do not turn the roller while it’s in your skin. You must lift it and then turn it. This will aviod breaking the skin.
Step 3:
Roll in a criss-cross pattern.

Micro Needling Depth Chart
In this blog we’re exploring all things, Micro Needling Depth Chart. You might think that micro needling is all the same but it can differ dramatically depending on the client and their needs. In Havana Skin Clinic, we use a pen that varies in depth from 0.5mm to 2.5mm so we can always control how deep we’re needling. Don’t just take micro needling to be micro needling. Some clinics will only offer a roller with a depth of 1.5mm making treatment with them a lot different to treatment with us. It is extremely rare that we would go as deep as 2.5mm. This needle depth would mainly be used for deep stretch marks and scarring on the body.

How to Clean Your Dermaroller
For hygiene reasons never share your Image A.D.S with anyone else. Not recommended for use on irritated or infected skin, active acne, rosacea, eczema, moles etc. Be extra careful when rolling around the eyes; don’t go any higher than your cheekbones when using the 0.5mm or 0.2mm roller. Don’t use the Image A.D.S on your eyelids as the skin is too thin. Keep products away from possible sources of contamination. - Store it in its case when not in use. If the roller is not performing as you expected or you feel it is not rolling smoothly, stop using and replace. Replaced every 30-60 days depending on the frequency of use as the needles wear and become less effective or can cause damage to the skin.
